School-Readiness Programs

For kids heading into 4K or Kindergarten next year. We use the months before school starts to build the skills your child will need to thrive: following routines, sitting for circle time, handling transitions, managing the cafeteria.

What it is

The bridge between toddler routines and the classroom

School-readiness is a focused ABA program targeting the specific skills that make the first months of formal school go better. Following multi-step directions. Waiting your turn. Sitting still for short periods. Handling transitions when the bell rings. Eating in a cafeteria. Asking the teacher for help.

Goals are picked based on your child's current skill profile and the demands of the classroom they'll enter. We coordinate with your child's intended school when possible to align on routines, so your child arrives day one already familiar with what's expected.

Programs typically run for several months leading up to the school start, with intensity tapering off once school begins (or shifting to in-school ABA if that's the plan).

Inside the program

What to expect

Sessions look like a mix of structured teaching and simulated classroom moments. Your BCBA might set up a pretend circle time at home, practice line-up routines, or rehearse the cafeteria.

We work with whatever the receiving school will look like. CCSD has different procedures than a private preschool; we tailor practice to your child's actual classroom.

How it works

From first call to active therapy

Most families move through these four steps in three to six weeks.

1

Free consultation

A real person picks up. We hear about your child and explain what's possible. No sales pitch.

2

Insurance verification

Same day. We run your benefits and tell you exactly what's covered before you commit.

3

BCBA assessment

Your BCBA meets your child at home (or by telehealth) and builds the treatment plan.

4

Therapy begins

Your RBT starts sessions. Your BCBA supervises and adjusts the plan as your child grows.

Why families pick us

What makes this work

Day-one ready

Your child arrives at school already familiar with circle time, line-up, transitions, and cafeteria flow.

Matched to the actual classroom

We learn how your child's specific school runs and practice those exact routines.

Reduces first-month meltdowns

Predictability matters. Practicing the unknowns ahead of time prevents the cascade of new-school overwhelm.

Coordinates with IEP teams

If your child has an IEP, we align school-readiness goals with it.

FAQs

Questions families ask us

Ideally three to six months before school starts. That gives enough runway to build skills without intensifying every session. Some families with significant gaps start earlier.

No. School-readiness is usually woven into a child's regular ABA program. We just shift the emphasis toward classroom-relevant skills as the start date approaches.

Depends on the child. Some families taper ABA hours once school provides structure. Others continue in-home ABA in the afternoons. A few transition to in-school ABA where their private team enters the classroom alongside the teacher.
