In-School ABA Therapy

South Carolina law lets families bring their private ABA team into public school. We deliver in-school ABA across the state: working alongside teachers, attending IEP meetings, and supporting your child through the school day.

What it is

Your private ABA team in your child's classroom

South Carolina law (the Autism Mandate, Ryan's Law, and federal IDEA provisions together) gives families the right to bring a private ABA team into public schools. If your child has an IEP and a need for individualized behavioral support, you can request that your private RBT and BCBA enter the school to deliver therapy.

In-school ABA is not a replacement for the school's services. It runs alongside the classroom teacher, the special education team, and (when applicable) the school's behavior interventionist. Our team coordinates with all of them.

We attend IEP and Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) meetings, share session data, consult with your child's teacher, and adapt the in-classroom approach as your child's needs evolve.

Inside the program

What to expect

We start by reviewing your child's IEP and (if available) the school's most recent FBA and BIP. Your BCBA then meets with the school team to coordinate. Our RBT enters the classroom during the school day, working one on one with your child as the treatment plan calls for.

Some families do in-school ABA full days; others split between school and home. We design the schedule with your child's clinical needs, the school's logistics, and your family's preferences in mind.

How it works

From first call to active therapy

Most families move through these four steps in three to six weeks.

2

Insurance verification

Same day. We run your benefits and tell you exactly what's covered before you commit.

3

BCBA assessment

Your BCBA meets your child at home (or by telehealth) and builds the treatment plan.

4

Therapy begins

Your RBT starts sessions. Your BCBA supervises and adjusts the plan as your child grows.

Why families pick us

What makes this work

Legally protected right in SC

South Carolina is one of the friendlier states for in-school private ABA. We help families exercise that right.

Coordinates with the IEP

Your BCBA attends IEP and BIP meetings, contributes data, and aligns clinical goals with school goals.

Reduces classroom disruption

When 1:1 ABA support is in the room, behaviors get addressed faster and the rest of the classroom benefits too.

Bridges home and school

Skills practiced in ABA at home transfer to school faster when the same team is in both places.

FAQs

Questions families ask us

Generally yes, under South Carolina law and federal IDEA provisions, public schools are required to allow private ABA teams to support students with IEPs. There's a process (you give written notice, the school may push back, you escalate as needed). We've helped families navigate every step and we coordinate with school district administrators directly.

Some are cautious at first; most welcome the help once they see we're not there to second-guess them. We work as part of the team, not above it. We bring data, not opinions, and we help reduce classroom disruption rather than add to it.

Your insurance pays, the same way it pays for in-home ABA. The school doesn't pay; you bring your own ABA team using your insurance benefit (SC Medicaid, TRICARE, or private).
